P-Square – Bunie Ya Enu and Forever (Free Download)

The first track “Bunie Ya Enu” which in igbo means “Life Him/Her Up” pretty much reminds us of our classic Naija Gospel praise & worship tune. Pretty hype tune.
Forever is classic P-Square… Another jam for wedding paroles. These guys just know how to get it right.
It’s no surprise that these twins can go to any country in the world and have a huge turn out of fans. We should be seeing an album sometime in the summer. For now though, enjoy these 2 tracks.

Amy Winehouse Passes on at 27

Amy had a troubled life, but her voice was amazing. I was never an Amy Winehouse fan but this is heartbreaking. Prayers and thoughts to her friends, fans and family

Her death came less than two months after her latest release from a rehabilitation program and weeks following a disastrous performance where she was booed off a Belgrade stage by disappointed Serbian fans.

We will resist every plot by The Boko Haram- Niger Delta Militants warns

The Niger Delta Indigenous Movement for Radical Change (NDIMRC) yesterday warned members of Boko Haram against
destabilizing the administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.
In a statement yesterday by the President, Nelly Emma; Secretary, John Sailor and Public Relations Officer, Mukoro Stanley, the group condemned worsening security situation in the country, saying it was a calculated attempt to discredit the administration of President Jonathan.

The group accused a prominent royal father in the north for sponsoring members of Boko Haram in order to create crisis in the country, saying that any plot against President Jonathan by the North would be resisted.

On its part, the National Secretariat of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) yesterday canvassed constructive dialogue as the only means of resolving the security challenge orchestrated by Boko Haram.

In a statement he personally signed and made available to reporters inAbuja, the National Chairman of the party, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu, advised Nigerians against politicising the Boko Haram issue, saying all segments of the society had been affected by the activities of the sect.

Declaring support for the deployment of soldiers by President Goodluck Jonathan in Borno State, the South South leaders charged him to repeat same in any part of the country where terrorism is perceived to constitute a threat to the integrity of Nigeria.

In a statement endorsed by the trio of Justice Adolphus Karibi Whyte (rtd), Ambassador Dr. Mathew Mbu and Dr Kalada Dick Iruenabere, the SSPA said: “We urge the Federal Government to use all the resources at its disposal to combat the threat posed by the Boko Haram.”

Irked by the terrorist activities of the sect, the SSPA charged the government to fish out those found to be behind the sinister operations of the sect and  ensure that they are brought to justice.

The South-South elder statesmen, who pledged the region’s commitment to an indivisible Nigeria, cautioned that they would not fold their arms and watch helplessly while some enemies of the region and the Nigerian state try to hide under the cloak of region to perpetuate treasonable acts.

“We therefore warn those living in glass houses not to throw stones. Enough is enough,” they said.

According to the SSPA, the Boko Haram sect has not hidden the fact that their ultimate goal is to make Nigeria ungovernable for Jonathan’s administration. They marvelled at the call by Borno elders for withdrawal of troops from the state, saying it smacks of approval for the operations of the Boko Haram terrorist group.

SSPA said it recalls threat by some prominent northern politicians during the recent electioneering that they would make the country ungovernable if Jonathan were to emerge President.

“If this were not the playing out of that conspiracy, why was there such a loud silence of acknowledged leaders of the north when it was critical to speak up, given the obvious bizarre response by the Borno elders and lawmakers” they asked.

The elders noted that the call for the withdrawal of armed personnel by the Borno Elders and law makers being based on a comparison between the activities of Boko Haram and those of the Niger Delta militants is misconceived, odious, preposterous, insensitive, simplest and without justification.

SSPA noted that while the Niger Delta militants were fighting concrete for economic justice for their own people, Boko Haram is fighting a nebulous and dangerous war to impose its religious ideology on the entire country.

It observed that “the dishonesty of the comparison becomes clear when one takes into cognizance the massive military response of the Federal Government to militancy in the Niger Delta.”

Five Types of Women Men can’t Stand

We all know what women don’t like in men, but do we have even the slightest idea about what type of women put off men? Here is the lowdown on the personality types men don’t like at all.

CRIBBER
Women who crib, talk negatively and belittle people are a great turn-off. Sure we all have our bags full of complaints, but it is one thing to complain once in a while, and it’s something else to crib big time 24×7 about every issue or every person one comes across. Men can’t understand why a woman has to crib and bitch all the time. Either you do something about the issue or stop complaining – it’s as simple as that.

WEIGHT WATCHER
‘Oh can’t have beer, it has 150 calories’, ‘I must hit the gym everyday’ – if these are your favourite catchwords, you have trouble coming your way. There is only so much diet, exercise regimens men can take and if you are too conscious, a man is likely to be exasperated. Women need to know when to give in ‘without throwing their weight around’!

IN-LAW BASHER
Agreed only the fortunate are blessed with a good set of in-laws. So if you are not one of the lucky ones, will you constantly bash them up verbally? They are somebody’s parents and if you don’t have anything nice to say something about them, don’t say anything. How does that sound?

WORKER BEE
If  you are buzzing nineteen to a dozen only about the presentations you have to make for the boss, deadlines, colleagues, HR head and the office janitor – it’s obvious you have nothing else to talk about. A man may want to know about your interests, your views on him, and more, but you prefer to hide behind ‘work’ all the time. If you want a man, any man actually – get a life first.

AGONY AUNT
There are some women who constantly feel they are an ‘advisory body’. They feel it is their business to hear out the whines of everyone around them and suggest suitable solutions. They are so deeply involved in this part-time job that they inadvertently sound like they are advising you as well. Nobody wants to date a mom, you know.

Thousands Attend First Anti-gay Protests In Ghana

Thousands of angry youth in the Sekondi Takoradi Metropolis have staged a massive demonstration against recent reports of gay and lesbian parties in the oil city.
The demonstration on Friday June 4, is the first ever anti-gay protests in Ghana. The over a thousand protesters defied a downpour to register their displeasure as they went through the principal streets of the metropolis wielding placards.
The demonstration was organised by the Muslim community in Takoradi with support from other religious groups and concerned citizens. It follows recent reports of alleged gay marriages and parties in Tanokrom and other suburbs of the city.

At the Tanokrom get-together, close to 60 gays and lesbians from the Eastern, Ashanti and Central regions, are said to have attended.
In 2009, Takoradi captured news headlines for allegedly hosting series of gay parties whilst over 2,000 registered homosexuals are said to be roaming the Twin City, according to the Western Regional Focal Person on HIV/AIDS, Dr. Roland Sowah.

The Leader of the demonstrators, Saeed Hamid, told Citi News the demonstration was meant to draw government’s attention to the conduct of the gays and lesbians in the country, particularly in the Western Region.
The group in a petition presented to the Western Regional Minister Paul Evans Aidoo said it is much concerned about the involvement of the youth in the practise which they say could jeopardise their future.
They are asking government to clearly state what the law says about homosexuality and possibly criminalize the practice.

Mr. Saeed Hamid said a lot of expatriates in Tarkwa and Takoradi working in the mining and oil industry were the ones luring the innocent youth into the practice by influencing them with money.
He said most of the young boys involved in the practise are having health problems and are wearing pampers.
“How would you feel, if someone puts his penis into your anus?” He queried.
He was worried that Takoradi is gradually becoming a hub for gays and lesbians hence their decision to resist the ‘’ungodly act’’.

According to the anti-gay and Lesbians group, even though people had the right to chose various sexual orientations and associate with whatever group they desire, Ghana as a country mainly occupied by Christians and Muslims, should not embrace such a practise, saying it could have dire consequences on the country.
“Ghana will suffer more than the experience of Sodom and Gomorrah, should we embrace this practice in this country,” he noted.

Receiving the petition on behalf of the President, the Western Regional Minister Paul Evans Aidoo assured the demonstrators that steps would be taken to address their concerns.
He however advised the group not to take the law into their own hands by attacking the alleged gays and lesbians in their communities since that would be a breach of the law.
The group has given indications that it would organise a nationwide protest if no positive response is heard from the government after two months.

The Western Regional Police Commander DCOP Mahama Hamidu, who led his men to offer protection to the demonstrators, described the march as peaceful.-

BAD NEWS AGAIN - Boko Haram Bombs Borno NYSC Camp - Mass Exodus hits Maiduguri

Maiduguri — There was pandemonium yesterday in the National Youth Service Commission (NYSC) camp on Biu road Maiduguri, Borno State, as a bomb suspected to be planted by Islamic radical sect, Boko Haram exploded.

Scores were said to have been injured though there was no official confirmation.
A corps member who spoke with our correspondent on condition of anonymity, said soldiers took over the camp immediately and ordered corpers to stay indoors.
This was as some southern states have concluded arrangement to evacuate their indigenes from Borno State, as attacks by radical Islamic sect, Boko Haram, continued yesterday.

However, government pleaded with residents not to flee assuring that adequate measures have been put in place to ensure that safety.
Daily Champion gathered that the decision of some of the states is to save the loss of lives and property of their indigenes.
In Anambra, Governor Peter Obi said his government would begin the evacuation of indigenes of the state from the troubled city. Last week, Abia State had warned that it will evacuate its citizens if the attacks continue.

Obi said the state is now set to commence evacuation of Anambra Indigenes from crises prone areas. He said this yesterday while speaking with State House Correspondents at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Obi who is Deputy Chairman of the Governors Forum, said the decision became necessary to save citizens from being killed in the cross fire between members of the Joint Task Force (JTF) and the Boko Haram.
"The option is to begin the evacuation of Anambra indigenes from Maiduguri, Borno State if the bombings in the state continue".
He said he was taking the option because he was not prepared to see any son or daughter of Anambra to be harmed in any part of the country from crisis.

He described the actions of the Boko Haram sect which has resulted in killings of innocent Nigerians in parts of the country, as unacceptable and must be tackled.
He said members of the sect have no justifiable reasons for their actions, noting that there was no need for some group of people to make the country very inhabitable to citizens. "This is the only country that we have as our own; we have no place to go".
Meanwhile, two soldiers were injured in the attack on Baga road, Maiduguri Metropolitan Council (MMC) while operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) the allegedly shot dead three members of the Boko Haram sect who attacked the military vehicle.
He said the soldiers engaged the sect members in a gun duel killing three of them, while others who fled and were pursued with a view to arresting them and bringing them to book.
Another bomb blast occurred when a NEMA vehicle matched on a bomb buried in pot hole on the same Baga road but no injury was reported yet.
Meanwhile, people in their thousands are relocating from Maiduguri to their villages and other neighboring states they consider safe, as the city has been turned into war zone were business and social activities have come to a stand still.
It could be recalled that the management of University of Maiduguri, on Monday due to what it described as security threat to both the institution and the students.
Speaking to our correspondent, a student of the institution, Ibrahim Idris said they received the news of the closure with mixed feelings because students can no longer settle and read peacefully, as gunshots and bombing were the order of the day around the institution, but also regretted that the school calendar will be distorted due to the closure.

Islamic sect 'BOKO HARRAM' bombs Prostitute hangout in Kaduna

The spate of bombings rocking Nigeria spread to Kaduna last night with a massive blast at the city centre. The bomb, which appears to have been hidden in a refuse bin, targeted a popular drinking joint and an area described as a prostitute rendezvous by Boko Haram militants.
The explosion went off around midnight in the Obalende area of the city, wounding six people. They were said to be receiving treatment in various hospitals in the metropolis.

The Kaduna explosion occurred only a few hours after another blast rocked a church in Suleija, on the outskirts of the federal capital, Abuja.  Four people were killed in that attack.

The  blast in Kaduna took place on Maiduguri Road in the city, the worst hit area was the Fakados street behind Dabo Motors which has a good number of beer parlours and popular hangouts for prostitutes. Some of the  women are believed to be among the victims of the blast.
