Baba Suwe's Lawyers To Sue NDLEA For 1 Billion Naira

Nollywood star, Babatunde Omidina aka `Baba Suwe’ is planning a N1 billion suit against the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) over his recent arrest and detention.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) recalls that `Baba Suwe’ was arrested by the NDLEA on October 12 at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos and is still being detained.
The NDLEA had alleged that the 53-year-old actor had ingested substances suspected to be hard drugs, but there was no evidence to substantiate the claim even after the suspect had defecated thrice, under close observation.

His lawyer, Mohammed Bashir told NAN in a telephone interview on Wednesday that a fundamental rights enforcement suit would be filed on his behalf within the next five days.
Bashir said: “We will be filing the suit before a Federal High Court in Lagos between now and Monday.
“We will be asking for N1 billion as compensation for damages suffered by him due to his illegal arrest and detention, as well as the embarrassment and defamation done to his reputation as a result of the incident,” he said.

The lawyer further told NAN that NDLEA officials had prevented him from meeting physically with Baba Suwe since his arrest, almost a week ago.
“I have visited the place twice since he was detained but was turned back and prevented from seeing my client. This denial of access to my client is another violation of his fundamental human rights,” Bashir added.

Members of Boko Haram have murdered an NTAreporter

Members of Boko Haram have murdered an NTA reporter. Nigerian authorities blamed the murder of the NTA cameraman on the Islamic sect Boko Haram
Alhaji Zakariya Isa died after being shot in the head and chest at his home in the northern city of Maiduguri, a military spokesman said.
The sect is thought to be responsible for a series of attacks in northern Nigeria in recent months.
Boko Haram – which means “Western education is forbidden” – usually targets the police and government officials.
However, in recent weeks, journalists have been threatened by the group, which says it wants sharia law more widely applied across Nigeria.
It said it would target reporters after it claimed spokesmen who were not part of the sect were being quoted by the media.
Boko Haram is thought to have carried out the bombing of UN headquarters in the Nigerian capital, Abuja, killing 23 people.
The sect launched an uprising in 2009 which was crushed by the military, leaving hundreds dead.

CNNGO.COM Ranks Nigeria 5th on World's Sexiest Accents BUT

After rating other countries with sexy accents,  cnngo.com got to Number 5 and said;

Some Nigerians are actually worth giving your bank account information to.

Famous tongues: King Sunny Adé, Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Dignified, with just a hint of willful naiveté, the deep, rich “oh’s” and “eh’s” of Naija bend the English language without breaking it, arousing tremors in places other languages can’t reach. Kinda makes the occasional phone scam worth the swindle.
Sounds like: The THX intro with teeth

Forget about what's in the title and the whole story, it's all bulls**t. How much of a compliment does this sound?

Nigerian (Sunday Okpere) Builds A Car From Scratch

When Sunday Okpere was seven, he made toy cars using empty milk cans, short ropes and small twigs, which he happily dragged around the streets in his hometown in Edo State; while at the same time nursing the dream of building a real car.

Today, Mr Okpere drives a red and black car, which he named ‘Rock Auto,’ around the streets of Lagos; a car which he designed and coupled from start to finish with locally-sourced materials.
Despite the death of his father and the attendant financial and emotional setback to the family, Mr Okpere said “making a car” was something he knew he wanted to do at a young age when he discovered his creative spirit.
